The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has assisted in recovering a cadaver in the vicinity waters off Barangay Alaguia, Lal-lo, Cagayan, this Black Saturday, 08 April 2023.

He was identified as 36-year-old Marvin Battad, a resident of Barangay Alaguia, who was reported missing by his family at around 9PM yesterday, 07 April 2023, due to a drowning incident.

The SAR team found his lifeless body along the Small Water Impounding Project (SWIP) Irrigation Dam.

The Coast Guard Station Cagayan launched an underwater search, rescue, and retrieval operation that resulted in the recovery of the said cadaver.

Based on the investigation, the victim was on board an unmotorized boat and decided to swim into a deeper portion of the vicinity waters.

He failed to get back on board his boat which drifted away until he went missing.

The bereaved family received the lifeless body of Mr. Battad for proper disposition.
