The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted in rescuing 13 tourists (including the boat operator) on board a motorbanca that capsized in the vicinity waters off Bonbon Beach in Romblon on 08 April 2023.

While island hopping, the motorbanca encountered strong waves, causing it to capsize.

Immediately, CG SN1 Kester Brylle Madali swam toward the motorbanca and rescued the tourists.

Meanwhile, CG ASN Francis Hedwig Salvador called the nearby beach patrol team and station operation for additional reinforcement.

Other first responders and beach goers also augmented the SAR operations as the maritime incident occurred approximately 100 meters from the shoreline.

The SAR team successfully rescued all tourists in good physical condition.
