UPDATE: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and PDRRMO Basilan confirmed that the cadaver recovered in the vicinity waters off Barangay Sulutan Matangal, Hadji Mohammad Adjul, on 11 April 2023 was the LAST MISSING PASSENGER of MV Lady Mary Joy 3.

He was identified as Private First Class (PFC) Marion Malda, one of the Philippine Army personnel on board.

With this update, the PCG reported that out of 249 passengers of MV Lady Mary Joy 3 --- 216 SURVIVED while 33 LOST THEIR LIVES due to the fire onboard incident.
