The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Western Sarangani has intercepts an unnamed motorbanca with ₱600,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes (20 boxes) from Tinakarang, Indonesia.

The operation occurred at Barangay Taliac, Maasim, Sarangani Province, on 06 May 2023.

On board the motorbanca were Indonesians, namely, Mr. Fadli Machamud and Mr. Fajar Antanari.

After the initial investigation and health check-up, Coast Guard personnel brought the Indonesians to the Maasim Police Station for case filing.

They also endorsed the seized items to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for proper disposition.
