The men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) express their deepest condolences to the bereaved families of former Senator Rodolfo "Pong" Biazon, who passed away at the age of 88 on June 12, 2023.

Coast Guardians regarded former Senator Biazon as the "FOUNDER OF THE PCG LAW OF 2009"

On behalf of the entire Coast Guard organization, PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, thanked former Senator Biazon for believing in the capabilities and functions of the humanitarian armed service.

"Through him, the Republic Act No. 9993 or the PCG Law of 2009 was introduced in the Senate. Truly, former Senator Biazon was an instrumental legislator who prepared the way for the PCG to become a strong workforce that delivers public service for nation-building," the Coast Guard Commandant said.
