The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confiscated five boxes of allegedly illegally transported cigarettes and dried tobacco leaves at Pier 5, Cebu City, on 28 June 2023.

At around 12:42PM, the Coast Guard Sub-Station Tinago received information regarding the said goods and immediately proceeded to Pier 5.

PCG personnel discovered the reported boxes labeled "footwear" contained 16 cigarette boxes and three bundles of dried tobacco leaves.

As of press time, the confiscated are now under the custody of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for investigation and proper disposition.
