The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has conducted a turnover ceremony and blessing of the Coast Guard Nursing Service (CGNS) Training Institute during its 6th Founding Anniversary celebration in Taguig City yesterday, 19 September 2023.
Chief of Coast Guard Staff, CG Commodore Joeven Fabul, represented PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Artemio M Abu, during the event.
In his speech, he recognized the significant achievements of the CGNS in the past six years, specifically in managing its personnel, providing training, and expanding its facilities.
Furthermore, PCG Chief Nurse, CG Commodore Lysamyra Marie Gavan, thanked Delgado Brothers Group of Companies President and CEO, LTCOL Jose Paulo Delgado PAF (Res), and its Vice President, Mrs. Margarita Delgado, for their continued support of the CGNS.
She gave them a plaque of appreciation for donating two prefabricated container rooms to establish the CGNS Training Institute.
CG Commodore Gavan said the CGNS Training Institute will be used to conduct Basic Life Support (BLS) and standard first aid training for Coast Guard nurses and other personnel to become highly skilled and capable first responders during maritime incidents and disaster response operations.
After the turnover ceremony and blessing, the CGNS commenced the three-day "Food Fair: Regional Eats" to showcase their personnel's creativity and resourcefulness through food.
The PCG Officers' Wives Association representatives, including Mrs. Evangeline Basilio, Mrs. Arlene Rances, and Mrs. Rizza Lyn Balilo, also joined the event.
