Coast Guard Special Operations Force (CGSOF) Commander, CG Rear Admiral Edgardo Hernando, spearheaded the joint Convening Ceremony of the Coast Guard Special Operations Course (CGSOC) Class 33-2023 and the Female Rescue Diver’s Course Class 06-2023 at the Coast Guard Base Farola, Binondo, Manila on 28 September 2023.

“The CGSOF remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting and saving our populace's lives by providing capable and competent personnel through various training tailored to provide students with the necessary skills to overcome perilous operational environments, understand the risks involved, and identify threats and opportunities present," CG Rear Admiral Hernando said.

In the past eight years as the Commander of CGSOF, I have been working hard to steer the unit towards developing competent, professional, and public service-oriented personnel through doctrine-based training programs," he added.

As a testament to this endeavor, the CGSOF has widely collaborated in its relations with foreign partners in schooling abroad for the advancement of personnel," the CGSOF Commander furthered.

“As you embark on these physically and mentally demanding challenges, I encourage each one of you to look at each other’s back. To promote teamwork and harmonious relationships as you go along with your training," CG Rear Admiral Hernando noted.

"Be wise and understand that every day in your training life becomes a test of endurance, not just in a physical aspect, but of moral strength and character. Take the challenge one day at a time, and you may rest, but never think about quitting," he concluded.
