The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has congratulated 29 paralegal specialists who were part of the Coast Guard Paralegal Specialization Course Class 01-2023 "Para-Unglaw."
PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Allan Victor Dela Vega, graced their graduation ceremony in Intramuros, Manila, yesterday, 08 November 2023.
"May this achievement further elevate our organization's success, and I believe that you have achieved the purpose of this course, becoming more effective and efficient paralegals in your respective units," CG Vice Admiral Dela Vega said.
"Please go the extra mile and reach out to less fortunate people, bringing the government's services offered through us, the uniformed service," he added.
Out of the 29 students of the four-month-long course, CG Seaman First Jay Lapaan received a "Certificate of Distinction" for graduating with the highest overall grade of 92.7%.
Meanwhile, CG Petty Officer Third Class Lester Canonizado and CG Seaman Second John Paolo Cueto were awarded "Certificate of Merit" and "Certificate of Recognition" for obtaining the second and third highest overall grades of 92.4% and 92.2%, respectively.
According to the Coast Guard Legal Service (CGLS), the Coast Guard Paralegal Specialization Course aims to impart relevant understanding to PCG non-officers, specifically in performing their duties and responsibilities comparable to paralegals of respectable law firms in the country.
