LOOK: The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao along with Coast Guard Station Davao and the Special Operations Unit-SEM collaborated seamlessly to address the flooding incident caused by heavy rainfall in Bago Galera and Bago Aplaya.

At the wee hours of November 09, 2023, Coast Guard Station Davao received a phone call from Davao City Central 911 requesting an immediate emergency response.

As such, recognizing the urgency of the situation, this District immediately organized its Deployable Response Group to augment the personnel requirement ofΒ Coast Guard Station Davao to include the Special Operations Unit-SEM and expeditiously mobilizedΒ  resources to provide aid and assistance without delay.

A total of twenty-eight (28) personnel responded swiftly and conducted rescue and evacuation operations to two different locations.

The victims of the flooding incident were then turned over to the appropriate Agency for debriefing and proper medical assessment.

As of this writing, this District, in close coordination with the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), continue to monitor the situation closely in Bago Galera and Bago Aplaya, respectively to ensure the well-being of the residents and to provide further assistance as deemed necessary.
