Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista has inspected the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)'s readiness for the holiday season at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 07 December 2023.

PCG Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan, and PCG Spokesperson, CG Rear Admiral Armando Balilo, showcased its personnel, vessels, and land mobility assets that will be deployed to ensure the safety, security, and convenience of sea passengers in various ports and waterways across the country.

Secretary Bautista also assessed the PCG's search and rescue and disaster response operations to achieve "zero maritime incidents" during this critical period.

Also present during the event were DOTr Undersecretary for Maritime Elmer Sarmiento; DOTr Assistant Secretary for Maritime Julius Yano; PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr; CG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Allan Victor Dela Vega; and other major Coast Guard command officers.
