An amicable settlement has been reached between the parties involved.

The owner of the boat, "RUEL J," has accepted full settlement for the loss and damage incurred following the maritime incident near Paluan, Occidental Mindoro, involving the fishing banca "RUEL J" and the Chinese-flagged vessel MV TAI HANG 8 on 05 December 2023.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), under the leadership of Commandant CG Admiral Ronie Gil Gavan, has actively coordinated with authorities for a swift and comprehensive investigation into the collision.

Five individuals were rescued after the incident, and the PCG has initiated efforts to ensure their safety and well-being.

Pandiman Philippines, Incorporated, a maritime services company appointed by the owners, Taihang Shipping Company Limited, has collaborated with the PCG in Sablayan to assess damages to the fishing banca "RUEL J."

The PCG's dedication to resolving the incident is reinforced by Admiral Gavan's earlier statement, warning all users of the seas in the Philippines that the PCG will pursue legal actions wherever necessary for offenses committed in the country's waters.

This collaborative effort between maritime authorities, local communities, and involved entities underscores a shared commitment to ensuring the safety of individuals during unforeseen incidents at sea.
