The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has collected over 130 sacks of silt and solid waste from the river during a coastal clean-up drive along the Pasig River, in front of the Manila Central Post Office, and next to the Escolta Ferry Station on 13 January 2024.
The aforementioned marine environmental protection activity was spearheaded by the National Capital Region - Central Luzon, and Coast Guard Station MalacaΓ±ang, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Pasig River Coordinating and Management Office, and Tug Masters & Barge Pool Inc.
This shared commitment is in pursuit of restoring and maintaining the health of the Pasig River. Regular monitoring, community engagement, and adaptive management are key components of a successful and sustainable initiative for our Pasig River.
