πˆππ‚πˆπƒπ„ππ“ π‘π„ππŽπ‘π“: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to a reported man overboard in the vicinity waters off Consuelo Port, San Francisco, Camotes Island, Cebu on 16 January 2024.

Coast Guard (CGSS) Sub-Station San Francisco received a phone call from CG SN1 Edgar Fabreo, a passenger of MV LCT JSC 6 informing that a passenger of the same vessel fell overboard at around 3:20 PM of the same date while the vessel was transiting.

Immediately, CG SN1 Fabreo, and vessel crew conducted Search and Rescue (SAR) operations and successfully rescued said passenger. CGSS San Francisco coordinated with City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Camotes for assistance.

Based on the investigation, the man overboard was identified as Mr Allan Estrera, 43 years old and a resident of Sitio San Martin, Brgy. San Isidro, San Francisco, Cebu. It was further found out that said passenger intentionally jumped overboard due to family problems.

CGSS San Francisco properly turned over Mr Estrera to PNP San Francisco with consent from Mrs Melanie Estrera, sister of the rescued person. On the same date, CGSS San Francisco advised the captain of MV LCT JSC 6 to file a Marine Protest. The team thereafter returned to proper station without any untoward incident.
