Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista spearheaded the donning and oath-taking ceremony of CG Vice Admiral Charlie Rances in San Juan, Metro Manila, today, 25 January 2024.

CG Vice Admiral Rances is the current Commander of the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC).

"I encourage you to work closely... See to it that the mandates of the Coast Guard are supported and that we will be able to meet all our objectives," DOTr Secretary Bautista said during the event.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan; PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr; PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, CG Vice Admiral Allan Victor Dela Vega; CG Vice Admiral Rances' spouse, Mrs. Arlene Rances; and his family also witnessed the donning and oath-taking ceremony.

The newly promoted PCG officer is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Maalab" Class of 1993.
