The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has joined the Department of Justice-Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (DOJ-IACAT) Technical Working Group (TWG) in a six-day mission in the ZamBaSulTa region on board BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301). 

The DOJ-IACAT TWG completed the six-day mission to study and strengthen backdoor exits against Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and smuggling of migrants by sea in the ZamBaSulTa region.

DOJ Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty and Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao Commander, CG Commodore Marco Antonio Gines, as the Head of the delegation, presided over the initiative with 38 DOJ personnel, including prosecutors.

The DOJ-IACAT TWG arrived at Ben Go Wharf in Baliwasan, Zamboanga City, yesterday, 26 January 2024.
