The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has joined the commemoration of the World Hijab Day 2024 at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, with Senator Robin Padilla yesterday, 01 February 2024.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) also joined the event with the theme, βEmbracing Diversity: Cultivating a Culture of Peace and Development through Inclusivity.β
The World Hijab Day encourages women of all religions to wear and experience the hijab for one day.
Muslim women wear the hijab as a symbol of modesty and conviction. The inner humility demonstrated by manners and morality completes the meaning of the physical veil.
AFP Chief of Staff, General Romeo Brawner Jr PA; AFP Peace and Development Office Chief, Captain Norsal Dimaporo PN; Coast Guard Chaplain Service Operating Unit Acting Commander, CG Captain Alicman Borowa; Maritime Security Law Enforcement Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff, CG Captain Havelino Salih; Department of Justice Undersecretary Margarita Gutierrez; National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Commissioner Dalisay Macadaman and various Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from Brunei Darussalam, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, and Turkey also graced the event.
