The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) intercepted a closed aluminum van carrying 700 reams of undocumented cigarettes at Sta. Clara Port, Jubasan, Allen, Northern Samar., yesterday, 20 February 2024.

The contraband originated from Zamboanga City and was bound for Oas, Albay.

According to the Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas, the Coast Guard Station Northern Samar continues to coordinate with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Region 8 for the necessary documentation, proper inventory, and handling of the seized items.

The BIR Region 8 released the driver and helper after acquiring their personal details and information regarding their cargo.
