The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Philippine National Police (PNP) seized 65 master cases of illicit cigarettes at Sitio Agro, Barangay Marangas, Bataraza, Palawan, on 23 February 2024.

Based on the inventory, the estimated market value was Php 910,000.

After receiving information from a confidential informant, the PNP coordinated with the Coast Guard Station Southern Palawan (CGSSP) to conduct the specialized operation.

The joint PCG-PNP team discovered the abandoned master cases inside a small warehouse located along the shoreline of Sitio Agro.

They conducted inspection, inventory, and profiling of the seized items, before turning it over to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for proper disposition.

The CGSSP said investigations are ongoing to identify individuals involved in the illegal operation.
