President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr has approved the promotion of three Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) senior officers upon the recommendation of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced the promotion this afternoon, 14 March 2024.

The three Coast Guard Commodores who received the next higher rank of “Rear Admiral” are:

1)  CG Rear Admiral Allen Dalangin – Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command Deputy Commander;

2) CG Rear Admiral Inocencio Rosario Jr – Coast Guard Special Operations Force Commander; and

3) CG Rear Admiral Edgar Ybañez – Coast Guard Fleet Commander.

PCG Spokesperson, CG Rear Admiral Armando Balilo, said they are scheduled to have their formal donning and oath-taking ceremonies before DOTr Secretary Bautista on Wednesday, 20 March 2024.
