The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rendered a testimonial parade and review for the Commander, Coast Guard K-9 Force, CG Commodore Angel Viliran, at Pier 13, South Harbor, Manila City, on 15 March 2024.

Over 29 years of public service, CG Commo Viliran served as a hardworking commander of three (3) Coast Guard districts, namely Coast Guard District Eastern Visayas, Palawan, and Bicol. Following his current designation, he was assigned in the Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Service.

In addition, he also assumed the director of the PCG Command Center and subsequently as the Chief of the weapons branch under the Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information System Command (CGWCEISC). Also, he was designated as the Technical Inspection and Acceptance Committee Chairman in the acquisition of firearms from Israel.

Moreover, he became the Field Station Commander of Coast Guard District Northern Luzon, Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog, and Coast Guard District National Capital Region – Central Luzon. After completing his junior billet, he was designated as the Deputy Commander of Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Intelligence (CG-2) as well as the Deputy Commander, Coast Guard Intelligence Force (CGIF).

As he commences a fresh chapter in his life, new experiences, relaxation, and adventure will concur, and this chapter be filled with happiness, fulfillment, and countless adventures.

During his speech, CG Commo Viliran stated, "After and purely by God's grace, I stand before you as an accomplished and seasoned Coast Guard officer. All glory to God alone for this honor and privilege."

After the testimonial parade, PCG Deputy Commandant for Operation, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr presided over the turnover ceremony, wherein CG Captain Antonio Sontillanosa Jr, a former BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702)'s Commanding Officer, assumed the duties and responsibilities as the new Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard k9 Force.Β
