The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan conducted an inspection of the PCG's forward support facility at Philippine Rise yesterday, 21 March 2024.

During said activity, CG Admiral Gavan and PCG Chief of Coast Guard Staff, CG Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio conducted an aerial survey of the Coast Guard Radar Station in Catanduanes.

Said initiative aligns with the PCG's efforts to bolster its presence in the Benham Rise area, ensuring enhanced maritime security and operational efficiency.

In a coordinated effort, joining them were Catanduanes Hon. Congressman Eulogio Rodriguez; Hon. Mayor Odilon Pascua of the Municipality of Bagamanoc, Catanduanes; Asst. District Engr. Maximo Eleda; and other representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH); Commander, Coast Guard District Bicol,  CG Commodore Philipps Soria; and Station Commander, Coast Guard Station Catanduanes, CG Lieutenant Junior Grade Kenny Villafuerte.
