The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) has retrieved the lifeless bodies of two 14-year-old drowning victims at Purok 7, Natappian, Solana, Cagayan, yesterday, 28 March 2024.

They were identified as Aldrin Mabborang (resident of Andarayan North, Solana) and David Miguel Caasi (resident of Basi West, Solana).

According to their companions, they decided do leisure bathing at a nearby river. The two victims, who also did not know how to swim, unconsciously reached a deep part of the river, causing them to drown.

The PCG’s search, rescue, and retrieval (SRR) team handed over the bodies to their respective families for proper disposition.

The CGDNELZN continues to remind local residents to be vigilant and alert during leisure bathing amid the extreme summer heat.
