The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) assisted in releasing a rescued female green sea turtle at Barangay Taggat Norte, Claveria, Cagayan, on 02 April 2024.

According to the Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN), the green sea turtle, weighing 11.6 kilograms and measuring 48 centimeters in length and 45 centimeters in width, is considered an endangered species.

Mr. Wilson Corpuz from Fuga Island turned over the green sea turtle to the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Claveria.

The CGSS Claveria, Coast Guard K9 Force, and Philippine National Police-Maritime Group coordinated with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for its release back to the ocean.
