The Coast Guard Public Affairs Service (CGPAS) has recognized Coast Guardians and media partners who played significant roles in advancing the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)'s information operations at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, today, 25 April 2024.

In 2000, the CGPAS was once known as the Coast Guard Public Information Office (CGPIO) under the stint of the then CG Lieutenant Commander Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr.

In 2010, the CGPIO was renamed to the Coast Guard Public Affairs Office (CGPAO) – a strategic shift towards a more proactive and transparent approach to information operations.

In 2023, the CGPAO was renamed the Coast Guard Public Affairs Service (CGPAS) to support the expansion of its roles in public information management and the development of stronger ties with stakeholders across various sectors.

Gracing the event was PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, CG Vice Admiral Rolando Lizor Punzalan Jr, who looked back on his experience as the PCG's public information officer.

He also thanked media partners for their full support in the PCG's information operations to keep the Filipino nation and the global audience informed about the organization's policies, plans, and operations.
