Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, CG Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan, presided over the inauguration ceremony for the newly constructed Coast Guard Sub-Station Candijay building located at Purok 6, Barangay Cogtong, Candijay, Bohol, yesterday, 08 May 2024.
Coast Guard District Central Visayas (CGDCV) Commander, CG Commodore Christopher Meniado, and Candijay Mayor Thamar Olaivar, also graced the event.
According to the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Eastern Bohol, they coordinated with the Office of Senator Juan Edgardo βSonnyβ Angara to support the construction of the said building.
The infrastructure project, funded by the Office of Senator Angara, was then included under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Tikas Program, through the assistance of the Office of the Municipal Mayor of Candijay.
The construction of the Coast Guard Sub-Station Candijay commenced on 11 April 2023 until 16 February 2024.
The CGS Eastern Bohol said the establishment of the new sub-station in Candijay, Bohol marks a significant step forward in enhancing maritime safety and security in within their area of responsibility (AOR).
