The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has assisted in arresting an individual wanted for murder on board a passenger / RoRo vessel in Zamboanga City, today, 22 May 2024.
The wanted individual, Mr. Sakib Ganih, has an outstanding warrant of arrest for murder (no bail) issued by Judge Shene CaΓ±ete of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Ninth Judicial Region Branch 4 in Parang, Sulu, under Criminal Case Number 1928-4.
According to the Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force (CGSMF), the operation commenced yesterday, 21 May 2024, when the PCG received an intelligence report that Mr. Ganih β a resident of Omar, Sulu β boarded a passenger / RoRo vessel that departed from Jolo going to Zamboanga City.
Joint law enforcement authorities arrested the wanted individual at around 07:25AM. He will be transported to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Station 11 for appropriate measures.

The CGSMU β SWM / BARMM, Coast Guard Station (CGS) Zamboanga, Coast Guard Intelligence Group (CGIG) β SWM, ZCPO β City Intelligence Unit, Joint Task Force (JTF) β Zamboanga, and the Zamboanga Port Police Division collaborated for the said law enforcement operation.
