The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued two individuals after their motorized pumpboat, MBCA ENOSSIAN, capsized in the vicinity waters of Barangay Buenavista, Surigao City, on 11 September 2024.

At around 6AM, MBCA ENOSSIAN with seven passengers and one boat captain on board departed from Barangay San Juan, Surigao City going to Barangay Rizal, Basilisa, Province of Dinagat Island.

At around 7:15AM, while transiting the vicinity waters between Basul and Hikdop Islands, the boat encountered rough sea conditions, causing it to capsize.

Transiting boats rescued six passengers, while the PCG rescued the boat captain and the seventh passenger.

All survivors were declared in good physical health condition.
