Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, personally welcomes the crew of BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) after completing their five-month deployment at Sabina Shoal.

The 97-meter multi-role response vessel (MRRV) arrived at the Puerto Princesa Port in Palawan earlier today, 15 September 2024.

Admiral Gavan PCG expressed his sincere gratitude and lauded the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Commander Efren Duran PCG, and his crew for their selfless sacrifice amid life-threatening challenges to ensure maritime safety and security in the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

"Rest assured that your Coast Guard will remain calm. We will be professional in pursuing the very clear directive of the President that we should keep what is ours – peacefully," the Coast Guard Commandant said to media partners who asked about the PCG's next steps in upholding the country's sovereignty in the WPS.

Meanwhile, Admiral Gavan PCG checked the health conditions of four Coast Guardians who were under medical observation due to illnesses including acute gastroenteritis, gouty arthritis, electrolyte imbalance, and heat exhaustion. According to the responding medical officer, all the patients have stable vital signs.
