The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has joined the Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) on bombing incident in Brookeβs Point, Palawan, on 08 October 2024.
Organized by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), the SIMEX strengthened the preparedness of various government agencies that harnessed their rapid response capabilities in the face of bomb threats and related incidents.
βThis exercise underscored the importance of seamless inter-agency coordination to ensure the safety and security of the community. Participants were able to demonstrate enhanced capabilities in addressing bomb threats, highlighting the critical role of security protocols and coordinated efforts in managing terrorist threats and other criminal activities within port facilities,β the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Brookeβs Point said in a statement.
βThe [success of the] SIMEX reaffirmed the commitment of all participating agencies to maintaining a secure environment for the public, ensuring that efficient and effective measures are in place to safeguard lives and properties,β it added.
Aside from the PCG, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Brookeβs Point, Municipal Police Station (MPS) Brookeβs Point, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Brookeβs Point, and Prudential Customs Brokerage Services Inc. (PCBSI) also participated in the capacity building initiative.
