The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has conducted the oathtaking and contract signing of 20 cadet scholars under the PCG-Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PCG-PMMA) Cadetship and Scholarship Program in Binondo, Manila, on 14 October 2024.

During the ceremony, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) Commander, Vice Admiral Charlie Rances PCG, acknowledged the importance of PCG’s partnership with the PMMA in shaping the future leaders of the humanitarian armed service.

Meanwhile, he urged the cadet scholars to give their best, take full advantage of the training, and prepare for the evolving threats facing the Philippine waters – from climate change to piracy and smuggling.
