The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has received one million pesos and 1,000 sacks of rice from the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list for the families affected by Typhoon #KristinePH at the National Headquarters in Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 24 October 2024.
On behalf of PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, Chief of Coast Guard Staff, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG, accepted the in-kind donation that will be distributed to the recovering families in the affected regions.
Moreover, the cash donation will be utilized in augmenting the Coast Guard's ongoing humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.
During the ceremony, the PCG thanked ACT-CIS Party-list representatives, including Auxiliary Commodore Erwin Tulfo PCGA, Auxiliary Commodore Eric Yap PCGA, Auxiliary Commodore Edvic Yap PCGA, Auxiliary Commander Jericho Francis Javier PCGA, and Auxiliary Commander Mach Jefferson Mancenido PCGA, for their generous assistance.
Also present during the event were Coast Guard Civil Relation Service (CGCRS) Deputy Commander, Captain John Barrameda PCG, and Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Civil Relations Service (CG-7), Captain Lejanie Dy PCG.
