The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) urges the public to always verify information through its official Facebook page, which has 1.1 million followers and serves as the primary source of legitimate information updates and announcements.

Any other account, such as the recently taken down fake FB page “PCG Announcement”, claiming to be official PCG Facebook including its post are not authorized nor sanctioned by this agency.

As a government entity mandated to protect the interests of the country and uphold the Constitution, the PCG remains apolitical and non-partisan.

This agency is appealing to the public to help protect the organization from any partisan political activities including misrepresentations such creation of social media accounts with posts and attributions that can potentially affect the morale of the PCG in performing its mandates especially those requiring them to go the harm’s way such as the protection of our national territory and sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea.
