Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has directed the Coast Guard District National Capital Region - Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL) to investigate the collision between LCT Nicia and MV Sangko Uno 66 in the vicinity waters of Rosario, Cavite, today, 26 March 2025.

Based on the initial investigation, LCT Nicia was traversing the vicinity waters bound for Cebu, while MV Sangko Uno 66 was on its way to the Pasay Reclamation Project from Zambales when the incident occurred.

The Coast Guard response team said no casualties were recorded and no oil spillage was observed in the vicinity waters of Rosario. However, the two vessels sustained minor damage.

As per the directive of Admiral Gavan, LCT Nicia and MV Sangko Uno 66 are underway to Manila to cooperate with the Coast Guard’s Marine Casualty Investigation (MCI).
