The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, presided over the simultaneous donning and oath-taking ceremony of newly promoted officers at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, today, 28 March 2025.

A total of 42 Commanders, 133 Lieutenant Junior Grade officers, and 700 Ensigns were promoted to the next higher ranks of Captain, Lieutenant, and Lieutenant Junior Grade respectively.

Admiral Gavan extended his heartfelt gratitude to President Ferdinand β€œBongbong” Marcos Jr. for his steadfast and invaluable support. He also expressed his deep appreciation to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon and the entire DOTr team for their unwavering commitment and continuous efforts in strengthening the organization.

β€œAll these were made possible because of their immense trust and confidence in the men and women of the PCG in protecting our sovereignty and promoting our national interests,” Admiral Gavan stated.

He also recognized the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices of the PCG personnel.

β€œTo all our promotees, let me remind youβ€”this promotion is not just a reward; it is a responsibility. It also means accountability. This additional bar on your shoulder must be carried with dignity and honor. With every stripe on your uniform, the expectations grow heavier. More lives will depend on you. More decisions will shape the fate of our organization. More challenges will test your character and resilience,” he emphasized.

Admiral Gavan encouraged the newly promoted officers to wear their ranks with humility, serve with heart, and lead with unwavering courage.
