The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) actively participated in the 6th Technical Expert Group Meeting (TEGM) of the ASEAN Coast Guard Forum (ACF) held in Bogor, Indonesia from 27 to 28 May 2025.

Said participation highlights the PCG’s unwavering commitment to regional cooperation, peace, and sustainable development in accordance to President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.’s pursuit.

The meeting gathered technical representatives from ACF member agencies to finalize the working draft of the ACF Terms of Reference and Concept Paper. The meeting also shared the draft Terms of Reference for the three (3) ACF Working Groups: Capacity Building, Information Sharing, and Operational Cooperation, as well as the Southeast Asian Protocols for Engagement at Sea between Coast Guards and other Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies (SEA-PEACE).

During the meeting, the PCG delegation presented the outcomes of the 3rd ACF High Level Meeting (HLM) hosted by the Philippines in Davao City in June 2024 and provided updates on the implementation of ACF activities.

As part of the program, the event provided an opportunity for ACF member agencies to visit the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia on 28 May 2025.

The 6th TEGM of the ACF serves as a vital preparatory platform for the upcoming 4th ACF HLM to be held in Thailand in June 2025.

The event was attended by the representatives of Coast Guard and Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies from Brunei Darussalam, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The meeting was also attended by the representative from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
