Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG presided over the awarding ceremony of the fishermen who reported the alleged illegal drugs along the coast of Barangay Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan,on 02 June 2025.

The ceremony occurred at Pier 13, Port Area, Manila, today, 06 June 2025.

Collaboration of the local communities and local authorities to bolster monitoring and prevent drug-related crimes is one of the directives of the President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.

Through the PCG’s intensified community engagement and awareness programs, the fishermen proactively reported the incident to the PCG—a brave example of community vigilance and commitment to peace and security.

In his speech, Admiral Gavan PCG recognized the heroism of the fishermen and the vital role that the local communities play in upholding the law and preserving peace and order in the maritime domain.
