The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has enhanced alliance on Coast Guard safety and security through the successful conduct of the second joint trilateral maritime exercise with the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) in Kagoshima, Japan.

Anchored on the directive of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) arrives at Port Area, Manila, today, 25 June 2025, after participating in the said initiative that highlighted the significance of maritime cooperation among allies in the region.

The exercise included Communication Exercise (COMMEX), Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX), Fire Fighting Exercise (FFEX), Photo Exercise (PHOTOEX), and Exercise on Transfer of Personnel.

On behalf of PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, PCG Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG, has welcomed the 123-member Coast Guard delegation.

The trilateral exercise not only enhanced interoperability among the participating Coast Guards, but also strengthened their collective capability to respond to maritime emergencies and natural disasters. It also served as a vital platform to exchange best practices, improve operational synergy, and reaffirm the shared commitment to uphold safety, security, and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
