The Philippine Coast GuardΒ (PCG) and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Calapan City jointly conducted a pre-emptive evacuation in Sitio Pulang Tubig, Barangay Gutad, following rising floodwaters caused by continuous rains from Tropical Storms β€œEmong,” β€œDante,” and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Upon receiving reports of critical river levels and impassable roads, Coast Guard Station Oriental Mindoro immediately deployed DRG Team 3β€”comprising personnel from CGSS Calapan and MEP-ERU OrMinβ€”alongside CDRRMO responders to assess the situation and assist residents.

At around 5:57 PM on 23 July 2025, six families or 18 individuals were safely evacuated and transported to the Barangay Gutad Evacuation Center.

The team then proceeded to Barangay Buhuan to respond to similar flooding threats.

The PCG continues to work closely with LGUs and partner agencies to ensure public safety during adverse weather conditions.
