The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) inspected the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Taft Avenue Station footbridge together with Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon today August 12,2025.

The PCG continues to deploy K9 handlers, PCG working dogs, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians and PCG Train Marshals in support of the DOTr’s initiatives mission to make commuting safer and more convenient.

This operation forms part of the SOTR’s initiatives to ensure safe, unobstructed, and efficient public transport for thousands of commuters each day.

The inspection confirmed the success of recent clearing operations along the walkway connecting the MRT to EDSA — including the ground level and LRT — now completely free of vendors and merchandise, greatly improving commuter flow and convenience.

In line with the directives of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., the PCG will maintain its deployment in close coordination with concerned barangays and local authorities to keep the area safe, orderly, and accessible, ensuring reliable train operations and a smoother, safer commuting experience for the public.
