Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has welcomed the Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, His Excellency Mariomassimo Santoro, and First Secretary and Political Officer, Mr. Frederic Grillet, during their visit at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 13 May 2025.
The visit strengthened maritime cooperation and explored new avenues for deeper and more strategic collaboration between the Philippines and the European Union.
The PCG and the European Union have been working together since 2023. Strengthening PH-EU ties in trade, security, and development remains a priority to ensure sustainable and inclusive progress.

The ceremonial event honors ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ who is a proud member of ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐ and with a distinguished military career marked by his numerous leadership positions, including commanding various Philippine Coast Guard vessels and Units.
In his 36 years, 1 month and 14 days of service, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ was appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Coast Guard Fleet; Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Surface Support Force; and Commander of Coast Guard Logistics System Command, Coast Guard Fleet, Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems Command, Coast Guard District North-Eastern Luzon, Coast Guard District Northwestern Luzon, and Coast Guard District National Capital Region โ Central Luzon.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) athlete SW2 Elreen Ann Ando PCG, bagged a silver medal at the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championship held in Jiangshan, China, on 11 May 2025.
The Asian Weightlifting Championship is the premier annual competition for top weightlifters across Asia, organized by the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF). It serves as a key platform for athletes to compete at the highest level, represent their countries, and earn qualification points for international events such as the World Championships and the Olympic Games.

The Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM) responded to a medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) requested for a Chinese national onboard a Hong Kong-registered dry bulk vessel "MV Shandong Propellant" at vicinity waters off Bengo Wharf, Zamboanga City today, 14 May 2025.
The distress call was received at 12:36 PM on 13 May 2025 from Ms. Roselle Rafa, reporting that a crew member of said vessel was experiencing breathing difficulties.
CGDSWM immediately launched a MEDEVAC operation to ensure a rapid and coordinated response.
