Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, has welcomed the Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, His Excellency Mariomassimo Santoro, and First Secretary and Political Officer, Mr. Frederic Grillet, during their visit at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, yesterday, 13 May 2025.
The visit strengthened maritime cooperation and explored new avenues for deeper and more strategic collaboration between the Philippines and the European Union.
The PCG and the European Union have been working together since 2023. Strengthening PH-EU ties in trade, security, and development remains a priority to ensure sustainable and inclusive progress.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. acknowledged the last three years of established deeper interconnection between the Philippines and the EU.
Deputy Commandant for Operations, Vice Admiral Edgar YbaΓ±ez PCG; Acting Deputy Commandant for Administration, Rear Admiral Joeven Fabul PCG; Chief of Coast Guard Staff, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG; Director of the Coast Guard Strategic Studies and International Affairs Center, Rear Admiral Rommel Supangan PCG; and other PCG central staff were also present during the meeting.
