The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) continues to search for the missing person, Mr. Nelson Jarnais, in the vicinity waters off Cangmating Sibulan, Negros Oriental since 29 December 2019.

Mrs. Chona C. Jarnais reported at the PCG Sub-Station in Amlan, Negros Oriental that her husband failed to return home and that he was last seen driving his motorcycle towards the shoreline of said vicinity waters after drinking alcohol.

PCG personnel sought the assistance of the Special Operation Unit (SOU) of Negros Oriental and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) of Sibulan, Negros Oriental in conducting Surface Search Operations, but failed to locate Jarnais.

The joint rescue team temporarily terminated the operations due to the heavy weather condition prevailing at the said vicinity waters.

PCG personnel informed local fishermen to be on the look-out for Jarnais and immediately report to the nearest PCG unit for information about his whereabouts.
