Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station in La Union rendered medical assistance to the crew of a bulk carrier M/V ‘Youmna’ at vicinity waters off San Fernando, La Union on 06 January 2020.

The rescued individual was a 35-year old Indian national identified as Mr. Jitendra Kumar Yadava.

Said bulk carrier requested for the medical evacuation of Mr. Yadava who sustained a facial injury at the right cheek after he was hit by a grinder blade.

Personnel of PCG Station in La Union proceeded in the area for the medical evacuation of the victim and brought him at the shoreline of Barangay San Agustin, San Fernando, La Union.

Mr. Yadava was then brought to Lorma Hospital for further medical treatment onboard PCG medical service ambulance.
