The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Surigao del Norte rescued 15 individuals onboard distressed motorbanca “Andre Ryan-3” along the vicinity waters off Surigao Base Port, Surigao City on 04 March 2020.

Around 6:30 a.m., Boat Captain Arturo Turtur departed Barangay Cawilan, Taganaan bound for Surigao City with 10 passengers and five crew members onboard when they encountered engine trouble, particularly on the fuel line supply.

The PCG Quick Response Team immediately conducted rescue operations to the distressed motorbanca and safely transferred the passengers onboard PCG rescue boat going to Punta Bilang-Bilang Wharf, Surigao City. 

Subsequently, said motorbanca has been restored after refueling.
