Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station in Catanduanes confiscated more than 700 boxes of hotdogs and sweet hams with an estimated market value of ₱ 720,000 onboard LCT Concepcion, upon its arrival at the Boracay Port, Albay on 07 March 2020.

Edwin Francisco, driver of the van carrying the assorted meat products, failed to present its Animal Heath Certificate and Meat Inspection Certificate.

The confiscated products were turned over to the Provincial Veterinary Office for proper disposition.

Aside from PCG Station in Catanduanes, other members of the Task Force African Swine Flu (TF ASF) – Virac included PCG Sub-Station and Coast Guard K9 in Virac, as well as the Provincial Veterinary Office.

The TF ASF – Virac strictly implements the total ban on entry of pork and pork by-products in Catanduanes as a precautionary measure against the spread of ASF in the province.
