MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Joel S Garcia extends his sincerest gratitude to private individuals and organizations that support the efforts of the service in protecting public health and safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations including food packs, sacks of rice, bottled water, canned goods, alcohol, personal protective equipment, and medical supplies are continuously being provided by numerous stakeholders as their way of aiding the government in the implementation of precautionary measures amid the enhanced community quarantine.

“Rest assured that all donations received by the PCG will be utilized in the most efficient manner. We are grateful for the trust of various sectors and for choosing the service to facilitate the distribution of relief supplies in communities that are vastly affected by the ongoing crisis,” Admiral Garcia said.

The Commandant also commends the men and women of the PCG for ensuring maritime security and public safety, and for voluntarily offering financial and relief assistance to affected families in their areas of responsibility.

“Our people are performing their duties and responsibilities with selfless motives and I am proud to be a witness of their collective efforts to serve the nation during this trying time,” Admiral Garcia added.

Moreover, Admiral Garcia recognizes the active support of the PCG Auxiliary in improving the service of PCG’s deployable response groups and in supplying the needs of underprivileged families through relief operations.

“The PCG will continue to augment the efforts of the government in addressing the pressing needs of the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Through your continuous prayers and support, the PCG will remain as a significant contributor in the promotion of health and safety of the Filipino people,” Admiral Garcia said.
