BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) travels back to Visayas and Mindanao this week to transport approximately 150 locally stranded individuals (LSIs), 30 indigenous persons, 107 members of the Philippine National Police - Special Action Force (PNP - SAF) and cargoes containing medical supplies amid the country’s fight for public health and safety against COVID-19.

Before boarding, PCG personnel ensured the safety of the passengers by implementing stringent health and security measures.

The LSIs were also provided with free hygiene kits, aside from the free food, temporary accommodation, and regular health check-up that are available aboard said vessel.

BRP Gabriela Silang departed this morning, 25 June 2020, and will disembark passengers and cargoes in Cebu City, Zamboanga, General Santos City, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro all throughout the week.
