PCG: The Philippine Coast Guard deployed its floating assets and personnel to render necessary assistance and to ensure the safety and security of the million devotees for the celebration of annual feast of the Black Nazarene every 9th day of January, from various vicinity of Quirino Grandstand and Pasig River.
Likewise, 360 personnel from various PCG Units including K-9 team conducted security paneling at the Quirino Grandstand, Jones Bridge and Mc Arthur Bridge; Special Operation Unit divers and Special Operation Force strike team will render water rescue when necessary; CG medical team will be onboard three different sea crafts to render medical assistance; CGDNCR-Central Luzon Quick Response Team will be on standby to render necessary support; and CG Auxiliary teams will be onboard rubber boats to render necessary assistance if needed.
PCG dispatched one 44-meter vessel, two 24-meter vessels, five small crafts, four aluminum boats, eleven rubber boats, and eight rigid-hull inflatable boats to further strengthen the security measure along waters off Manila and Pasig. This is in coordination with PCG Auxiliary, Philippine National Police-Maritime Group (PNP-MARIG), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
