PCG: Philippine Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Elson E Hermogino presided the joint turn over ceremony of two Coast Guard Districts, two Central Staff, one Coast Guard Command, and one Maritime Environmental Protection Unit at the National Headquarters of the Philippine Coast Guard last Friday, January 25, 2019.
Commodore Oscar C Endona has formally assumed as Commander of the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Service (CGHRMS) from the command of Captain Rudyard M Somera. Captain Somera subsequently assumed the position of the Deputy Commander of CGHRMS.
Meanwhile, Captain Charlie Q Rances has assumed as the Acting Commander of Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon replacing Captain Edgar Boado. Captain Boado has been appointed as Acting Commander of Coast Guard District Eastern Vizayas (CGDEV). Captain Giovanni G Bergantin, outgoing District Commander of CGDEV will be assigned at Coast Guard Surface Support Force as the Deputy Commander.
Captain Genito B Basilio was designated as the new Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Operations replacing Captain Allan O Corpuz who will be reporting to the Marine Environmental Protection Command as the Director of National Operation Center for Oil Pollution (NOCOP)Former, NOCOP Director, Captain Edgar L YbaΓ±ez will be assigned afloat to be the Commanding Officer of MCS 3001, one of the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Monitor, Control and Surveillance vessels.
Lastly, Commander Wendell Soliva has formally turned over to Commander Geronimo B Tuvilla the post of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Communications, Weapons, Electronics and Information System (CG-11).
